The success of UNDP activities in Kazakhstan largely hinges on close cooperation with partners. Because UNDP seeks to ensure a predictable flow of resources to support its programmes and projects and follows strictly the principles of transparency, fairness and neutrality in grant funds distribution, we have earned a reputation of a trusted and efficient partner.

KEY PARTNERS:

- Central and local governments and representative authorities, including the Parliament, Presidential Administration, Prime Minister’s Office, Supreme Court, all line ministries, agencies and commissions, local Akimats and Maslikhats.

- Civil society organizations, including NGOs, academic and educational institutions, political parties, private companies and mass media

- Donors, including bilateral and multilateral organizations, including UN agencies

 

Work with the UN Country Team

In partnership with the World Bank and UNADIS UNDP successfully implements the Project on Long-term joint capacity building for AIDS control in Central Asia” (2007-2010). Keeping with its general mandate for capacity development services and demonstrated expertise in supporting the implementation of multi-lateral HIV/AIDS projects globally and in Europe and CIS UNDP seeks to assist the effective implementation of key aspects of the broader Central Asia AIDS Control Project that aims to finance, though grant projects, regional initiatives contributing to the control of the HIV/AIDS epidemics in Central Asia.

From 2008 to 2010 jointly with UNICEF, UNFPA and UNV, UNDP sucessfully implemented a Programme on Rehabilitation of the Semey Region to make efforts on securing economic growth and sustainable development to enhance human security in the former nuclear test site.

The Project “Transparency and Access to Information and Justice in Kazakhstan” is cooperating with UNV, UNESCO (a series of joint events and future plans for joint development of the training course on access to information), UNICEF (joint discussion group on mediation law).

Jointly with UNODC UNDP projects focused on a good governance carried out different anticorruption events to increase public perceptions on dangers of the corruption at the same time contributing to civil society development. 

EC/UNDP BOMCA project  cooperate with UNODC project CARRIC on Drug profiling.

Within the Project "Realizing the rights of persons with disabilities" UNDP worked with UNICEF  on development of the law “On Special Social Services” (2008), with UNESCAP to hold a series of workshops on promotion of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Astana, Almaty, Bishkek) and provision of expertise within NHDR 2009 preparation. Together with UNECE (statistical division) UNDP delivered a training workshop for enumerators on Disability Questionnaire within the project “Improvement of Disability Measurement and Statistics in Support of the Biwako Millennium Framework and Regional Census Program” in (September 2009) as well as  developed a training manual on Disability, Gender and Migration statistics (2009-2010).
